also 10/10 I DO recommend buying this game even in early access. Thank you for reading and I hope my review helps you.
#Homeworld 3 railgun frigate series
I could and will spend hundreds of hours playing it and if the dev follows through with promised campaigns and factions this game has potential to be one of my all time favourite games potentially even beating the homeworld series it is that great! I have had a game where my ships started already collided with a meteor, meaning a had to spend time manouvering away before i could really start, a few multiplayer matches that crashed on the loading window and a few weapon glitches- one being a beam weapon start firing and then stop before reaching the target and start to recharge cycle- non dame caused.Īll this being said This game is still amazing. Bugs, naturally these are bugs but no where near to what i was expecting and none game breaking. however I feel the game would benefit from torpedos having a confirm launch from sending a salvo. however after watching a few videos im sure I will pick it up quickly enough. When moving or setting up torpedo salvos the widget can be confusing and hard to use. It actually makes it easier to learn how fleet design decisions effects game play. However the dev has said there will be 3 factions in total in time and what we do have does allow a whole lot of choice and freedom when designing a fleet. for now this is a drawback, with only on faction to choose from and one ship shape and design for each size- corvette, frigate, etc the fleet designer has limits. The UI in game can be a a little confusing and intimidating at first however with a little experience it get easier to understand and i know where to find the knowledge for better understanding in the tutorial. a well timed torpedo strike from a frigate could take out a heavy cruiser. no magic shields that just negate all damage or large ships that are invulnerable to smaller vessels just because they are bigger and better. realistic and plausible low sci-fi technology that just makes sense. It feels like im commanding a fleet in the expanse.
#Homeworld 3 railgun frigate full
The game is fully playable on early access release with an easy to follow tutorial and from what i have seen all the fixes and changes made in the last month have been community influenced while sticking to his full vision. however he has followed through with everything so far. The dev has made a lot of promises, as with most devs. The decisions for fleet composition, loadout and size through to in game manoeuvre, radar emissions all have an impact a fleet with heavy anti missile set up is less likely to be successful against one with no missiles but railguns instead. for example a torpedo strike from a front angle may fail to breach your targets defences but from underneath your could smash a frigate with as few as 3 torpedoes.

full three dimensional movement that matters where your ships are positioned has a massive effect on the outcome of skirmishes. In the interest of keeping this review shorter ill just go into the pros and cons. Nebulous fleet command has a real expanse feel to it, if you ever watched a combat scene in the expanse series and wondered what it would feel like to play through a similar scenario look no further! This game really delivers on this and more. However after 6 weeks or longer of watching this game, its development and the community I feel obligated to share my findings after the first day early access release.įirst off I had been looking for a RTS sci-fi fleet game that allowed full 3 axis movement and where the choices made matter. I rarely write reviews, especially on early access games. NEBULOUS: Fleet Command Game Review by Captain Hards
